89 - The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest
THis has to be the weakest movie of the three Swedish movies produced. It was never able to draw me in the way the previous two were able to. Frankly, I wished I had just re-watched the first one since it was way more compelling, even if I already knew the ending.
88 - The Sitter
Oh god was this terrible. However, I laughed so hard the entire time. You know, I wold totally see this again (on video) if I needed a great laugh.
87 - Hugo
This is the best Kids movie I’ve seen all year, even if small kids would probably hate it. It’s more of a kids movie for grown ups. It was a beautiful movie in multiple ways. That is probably the only way to describe it.
86 - THE DESCENDANTS
It was a good yet predictable movie. There were a few great parts but mostly, but that is really it. It had the whole “look are rotten these people are, but look how great they really are once you get them alone” plot device. Let’s face it, it’s a tired trick. So now that we’ve covered that, I will say I did enjoy it. I did cry a few times. And yes, I did groan during...

85 - Martha Marcy May Marlene
GO SEE THIS MOVIE. I spent the entire movie on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen next. Everything about the style of the film was so simple and then you’d get this quick swell of music as the tensions would rise until the it quickly faded and you could breathe again.
I wish they showed a little bit more how she got caught up in the cult life, and I wish they showed the...
85 - Client 9
This was a fascinating documentary on Eliot Spitzer and the higher class prostitution scene. There were so many interview clips with Spitzer that were mostly relevant that it made me wonder: is this his speaking to the film production crew, is this an interview with another group just reused, or is he being interviewed by the crew thinking it is for something else?

84 - Ides of March
This movie started out slowly, to the point where I was starting to get a bit annoyed. All of a sudden it turned around. It was like one move after another and I’m back to being sucked in waiting for the next action.
83 - Prom
One of the girls at work said it was terrible. The guy who watches Disney shows on a regular basis said to her “If you think that movie was bad it must be really bad” and said he will not be watching it.
I didn’t ignore the warnings. I rented it. I saw it. It was worse than i ever imagined. then I forgot to return it. Doh.

82 - To the Limit
Two brothers who want to climb to the top of El Capitan faster than anyone has ever climbed it before. Watching them try, makes me wish I had the skills to climb it, but not in the way they did. How do you truly enjoy it if you’re running up a mountain or climbing a rope?
81 - Moneyball
I think I may have been too excited for this movie for way too long. It couldn’t live up to my expectations that have been building up for over a year. How could a movie about baseball, written by Aaron Sorkin, starring Brad Pitt, and about statistics be anything other than perfect?
It was far from perfect but an excellent movie nonetheless. I think my problem with it was that it...

When I deactivated my Facebok last summer, they showed me pictures of people I only have on there to avoid drama. 3 people I couldn’t care less about them missing me.

Laurie & I are wrapping up the Facebook story, but I’m still testing stuff, so I clicked “deactivate my account.”

80 - Drive
The problem with cool movies that are filmed Downtown, is that I get distracted and start trying to locate where things are taking place. Do I know this building? Oh I love that restaurant! that’s a sketchy street, but it’s near a cool bar. Those are all things that run through my head while seeing DTLA images in TV and movies. This movie should have done that for me in the opening...
79 - The Debt
This wins as the most suspenseful and thrilling movie I’ve seen all year. I was constantly at the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next.
In other news, I have a crush on Sam Worthington.
78 - Amreeka
This seemed like a perfect follow up to Desert Flower. In fact, I only even though about watching it because the trailer for it came up before Desert Flower. Anyway, I enjoyed this movie enough. I did have some ‘wtf’ kind of reactions during the airport security line stuff. Seeing as most airports have similar rules and they had to fly to get out of Palestine, I’d have figured...

77 - Desert Flower
I just loved this story of a Somali woman who made her way to the UK then got discovered and became a supermodel in the 80s. This is not only to see such a great rise from nothing type story, but to also hear about female genital mutilation.
76 - You Again
Kristen Bell can really do no wrong in my book. I love her. However, do you know what made this movie for me? The weren’t fighting over a man. THey were fighting over the way they treated each other. Yeah, there was the hallmark scheming and undermining of a typical chick flick, but it wasn’t due to being a lonely, pathetic woman.
75 - Crazy, Stupid, Love
This was the perfect girls night out movie, and not because Ryan Gosling is hot (even though he seems less hot than he did 5 or so years ago but still ridiculously good looking). However, I think we could have all done without the babysitter subplot, she was kind of annoying. And maybe even less of the son. I wanted to reach into the screen bruch is floppy hair out of his eyes and shake him.

74 - America's Sweethearts
Speaking of Tati, who I studied some in Strasbourg, this film also has strong Francais memories for me as well. I happened to have the DVD of this in my CD case when I went to study abroad. So whenever I didn’ feel like going out or reading or doing homework or watching french TV, I’d put this on. However, I’d always have the french subtitles on to help improve my language...
73 - The Illusionist
I could see Jacque Tati in it from the moment the main character appeared onscreen. The problem? I have never enjoyed Tati.
72 - Red White and Blue
Which of you told me I needed to see this movie? I know someone did. Who was it? I’m curious as to why. I’m not saying it in a bad way, but why would you suggest this particular title to me.
And on that note, it might have been a bit too violent for me. The box said something along the lines of “You’ll feel the way you felt when you finished watching Requiem for a Dream...

71 - Trust
This movie is going to seem so dated in about 6 months. It’s an interesting story that plays off of all of the stereotypes you read about the threat of social media to children. Having working in this field in the past, the movie was something I really wanted to see. They did an adequate job and this is one of the few films that focus on what children can face online and the aftermath. Yes,...

69 - Beats, Rhymes, and Life
I left this movie feeling bad for Phife. You would hear him and you know he just didn’t have the decade of media training that Q-tip had in regards to answering “What happened with A Tribe Called Quest?” He just let it all out. No matter how smooth Q-Tip was you just couldn’t help but know he was the bad guy of the movie.

1-star review of Providence by Kenny K.
(via fuckyouyelper)
Really? Where the butter came from? It came from a cow.
68 - Rabbit Hole
I’m getting lazy on these reviews. It was a good movie and an interesting one, but not this crazy intense movie I heard it was supposed to be. I liked it, good way to spend an afternoon, and I would probably never see it again. However, the play? I’d like to check that out.

67 - Midnight in Paris
This movie hasn’t left my mind since watching it. It’s sent me on long roaming walks. It had me tearing apart my boxes and suitcases looking for photo albums of my travels in Europe. It had me wanting to have an amazing evening with someone special running around town. And it made me want to go back to France.
I said I was done with Europe, but I think another trip to France could be...
66 - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
In Nice, France I started reading Harry Potter for the first time. Now almost 10 years later, I finished the last movie. I’ve read the books in French, went to 2 midnight on sales, dragged friends to opening day screenings, and missed a wedding due to staying up all night reading (sorry Alicia).
To think there are no more waits for new Harry Potter anything is kind of bizarre. So I’m...
65 - Zodiac
It took me 2 days to finish this one. Around 2:10 I realized I had stopped paying attention about 30 minutes prior. Now it’s not a bad movie, just a very long one.
64 - Diary of a Wimpy Kid - Roderick Rules
It had virtually none of the charm of hte first movie and fewer laughs. By the end I was cheering for the parents in hopes they’d catch their kids in a lie.
I heard a quote that said “There is nothing more boring than someone in their 20s” I will ammend that with except this kid who’s self absorbed likea person in their early 20s
63 - Bad Teacher
Let me save you the time: This movie is so shitty. Jason Segal is the only redeeming quality in this film, and even then it’s not even that redeeming.
62 - Horrible Bosses
After Bridesmaids, this is the funniest movie I have seen this summer

61 - Stick It
I almost wish they made a sequel to this movie.
60 - The Roommate
They said they were going to 7 Grand. That was not Seven Grand. It might have been The Edison but it’s not 7 Grand. Anyway, lame, lame movie. Why do people on teen TV shows insist on staring in the crappiest movies during their hiatus?
